INDIE 2008 – World Film Festival opens registrations for feature fiction films and music documentaries. The Festival will happen from October 09-16, 2008 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

1 | INTRODUCTION

INDIE 2008 – World Film Festival is an annual event. This is the 8th edition dedicated to national and international independent features. In its last edition, the festival received more than 20.000 viewers. All screenings of the festival are free entrance.

INDIE 2008 will be divided in more than 5 programs: World Cinema, Indie Brazil, Retrospectives, Kino for Kids and Underground Music, etc.

Registrations are only for World Cinema and Underground Music program.


2 | REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTRATION

To be eligible for the INDIE 2008 screenings, works must follow the conditions:

> Feature Fiction Films and Documentaries: minimum running time 60 minutes, any subject (for the program World Cinema).

> Documentary about music, of any sort, and/or about musicians or a music cultural manifestation: 40 minutes or longer (for the program Underground Music).

> Works finished in 2006/ 2007/ 2008.

> Works originally in any format: 16mm, 35mm, Beta, DigiBeta, DV and others.

> International works will be exhibited only in DVD (NTSC/PAL), BETA (NTSC), digiBETA and MINI-DV (NTSC).

> Works must be in English or contain English subtitles.

> Short films, Institutional works, advertisement films and music videos will not be accepted.


3 | REGISTRATION PROCEDURES

Works should arrive in Belo Horizonte/Brazil no later than July 11th, 2008 in order to register for the INDIE 2008 – World Film Festival. The entrant must follow the procedures:

> Fill out an entry form available online at www.indiefestival.com.br or at www.withoutabox.com

> For each entry a separated on line entry form should be completed.

> Works must be sent in DVD (NTSC/PAL) copy with good quality to the address below:

> The package must be labeled “ONLY FOR CULTURAL PURPOSES/NO COMMERCIAL VALUE”. All the dispatches must declare an amount to max US$ 5,00 ( five dollars) (no higher amount will be accepted by the festival organization). The festival will not be responsible for any damage or loss. All sending expenses: transportation charges, duties, taxies MUST BE prepaid by the shipper. Fees charged to the INDIE 2008 will be refused. Be sure to include all the proper customs documentation required by your shipping service.

> All materials must be labeled with director´s name, title and contact.

> Pictures/stills of the films should be sent by e-mail to zetafilmes@gmail.com or if submitted via Withoutabox, please activate your Filmpromotion Kit (Press Kit).

> For each entry a separated on-line entry form should be completed, but more than one work should be sent at the same tape or DVD.

> None of the material sent for registration will be given back.

> There are no entry fees.


4 | GENERAL RULES

> A commission assigned by the organization will select the films. Entrants will be notified of the selection results until August 15, 2008.

> Selected works will be part of INDIE 2008 – World Film Festival, in Underground Music program or World Cinema program.

> Screenings during the festival will be on digital format only.

> Selected works, will be shown during INDIE 2008, from October 09-16, and could also be invited to be part of a INDIE Festival Tour in Brazil.
